Community Resources for the Child

Youth Sports

Besides the health benefits of participating in sports, there are many other benefits that allow for healthy child development, and these benefits directly oppose the consequences of having a parent with substance use disorder. Sports allow for an increase in self esteem, emotional intelligence, concentration, and school performance. There are also links to positive character building.
